Monday September 21th – Chapter 2 – Section 1 assessment due on Tuesday.  Homework to follow sylabus.

Tuesday, September 29 – CHAPTER 2 TEST

Wednesday – Begin Chapter 3 – Section 1 assessment due

Thursday, Oct. 8 – Chapter 3 Test

Friday October 9 – Current Event written exercise.

Tuesday, October 13 – Begin Chapter 4

Thursday, October 15 – Homework, section 1 & 2 assessment is due.

Friday, October 16 – Section 3 assessment due

Week of October 19 – CHAPTER TEST on Thursday, October 22nd.  All homework should be completed by Wednesday morning.

October 26 – Begin Chapter 5, Read section 1 Homework questions are do on Tuesday morning. 

Week of October 26 will focus on the American Constitution as the Law of the Land.  Think about yourself as a delegate and what you would say, as to its creation.

Week of November 2 – We will finish Chapter 5.  On Monday, we will do Sample Ballots and review gubenatorial race

Thursday we will review for test.  All homework must  be turned in by Wednesday,

Review is on Monday, November 9th.  Chapter Test will be on Tuesday, November 10th.  Chapter 6 commences on Wednesday.  Read section 1 and do assessment.

Chapter 8 begins.  This is a short Chapter.  Section 1 assessment is due on Tuesday, December 1st.

The week of December 7th will focus on Congressional Duties and Powers, and the role of our representatives.  Homework will be by completion of section.

Week of December 14 – Chapter Test  most likely on Wednesday.  Be prepared.  All Chapter 8 HW should be finished by Tuesday, Dec. 15.

FRIDAY December 18- Research the background and requirements to be President for ACTIVE DISCUSSION>  Bring notes from chapter and internet research

Week of December 21- Chapter 9 – Executive branch-  Be prepared for discussion and debate on branch activities and duties

Summer Reading Test – Monday, September 21st.  Book, notes and organizer allowed in class on test day

Chapter 13 Test – Tuesday, September 22

Chapter 14  – Starts Wednesday, September 23rd.  Section I, 1,3,4 questions due Wednesday; homework to continue per sylabus.

Wednesday, September 30 – CHAPTER 14 TEST

Thursday, Oct. 1 – Begin Chapter 15 – Section 1 – Questions 1,3,4 due

Thursday October 8 - all homework must be turned in; test 14 taken

Friday, October 9 – Chapter Test

Week of October 13 – We start Chapter 17 – Progressiveism.  Section 1 & 2 assessment is due on Thursday, October 15. 

Section 3 is due Friday, October 16

Week of October 19 – Chapter 17 – Sections 2-5.  All homework should be completed by Thursday.

Test – Chapter 17 – MONDAY OCTOBER 26th

Begin Chapter 18 – Tuesday, October 27th – HW Read and do - Section 1, 1,3,4  Each succeeding day is the next section.

ALL HOMEWORK FOR CHAPTER 17 should have been turned in.  Chapter 18 will focus on American Imperialism and expansion.

We will complete Chapter 18 this week.  Be prepared to speak to your thoughts on Imperialism.  ALL homework must be completed by Wednesday, for the end of the marking period.

Chapter 18 Test on Monday, November 9th

Tuesday will begin an audio/video presentation on WWI.  You must take notes as there will be a test on this presentation.

Monday – November 16th – We will possibly finish out audio/video; if so test is on Tuesday.  Chapter 19, WWI will follow.  The day after the test, Section 1 assessment is due.

Quarter II – Research Paper – US HISTORY II

Research the background of the Great Depression.  Explain why it happened (its helpful to use a timeline) and how it could have been avoided.

Compare it to the current depression/recession.  How are these two incidents alike?  How are they different?

This should be a minimum of four full typed pages.  Pictures are not necessary and should be avoided.  Graphs or charts can be included at the end; they do not count as a typed page.

You must cite at least three different sources; only two can be internet sites.

This is due January 8th, 2010.

We will most likely test on Wednesday or Thursday of the week depending on how we progress.  All homework must be completed in a timely manner. 

Chapter 21, the Roaring Twenties will follow the test.  Remember, this starts the beginning of the second half on Quarter II
